Of Open House & Sister-in-Law's Engagement

Hi lovelies,

I wish you Selamat Hari Kemerdekaan Malaysia yang ke-56. Alhamdulillah untuk Malaysia yang masih aman (aman ke?) tanpa sebarang peperangan atau kekacauan.

Harini saya cuti. Yay!

So last weekend saya balik Penang (kampung Hubster) for SIL's engagement on the Saturday or Merdeka Day itself. Sampai sana dalam pukul 7am camtu sebab took off quite late from KL. The engagement was on the Saturday night and during the day my in-laws hosted a Raya open house for family and friends. 

Banyak betul makanan. Macam food fest pon ade. Not all was ordered. Some were cooked my MIL and elder SILs. MIL cooked gulai ayam for nasi dagang, kari daging for roti jala (Penangites called roti kirai) while SIL cooked ayam rendang. There's more! We had spaghetti bolognese by other SIL, mee rebus, satay with nasi impit and all its condiments and also nasi dagang. 

Banyak sangat makan sampai tak sempat nak rasa lapar. Haha. Most of the guests were my in-laws' friends. So tak kenal sangat. Aktiviti saya hanyalah bergambar dan look pretty (sila muntah please!). Just joking. Of course lah kerja saya seperti menantu kesayangan yang lain and that was replenishing the food! Saya tak perlu basuh pinggan (fuh, nasib baik!) sebab my FIL dah hired someone for that job.  Haruslah menarik nafas lega kalau tak, tak glam la yours truly. Hekhek.

Then that night after Isyak barulah start majlis pertunangan adik ipar saya. Adik perempuan Hubster yang bongsu. Alhamdulillah everything went so well and she's now officially engaged. I am so happy for her :) But I didn't have the chance to see acara sarung cincin because I'm stucked in the kitchen. Huhu.

Untuk malam, menu ada tambahan. Ada nasi daging, udang masak beriani, udang masak tiga rasa plus all the food we had for open house siang tadi. 

Tetamu VIP malam tu was Timbalan Ketua Menteri Pulau Pinang (I), Datuk Haji Rashid who is my FIL's friend. I don't get it why everyone's was taking turn to take picture with him as if he is a celebrity. Maybe for orang Penang ye lah kot. I dunno. I had one picture, ramai2, tu pon ai is enterprem only! Hubster had one sbb they know each other. Family friend kan.

The rest of the night apa lagi, camwhore la ceritanya, with the props and everything.

Memang penat sangat. Masuk tido quite late sebab tolong kemas2 all the stuff. Maklumlah not all fully catered. So kami lah jadi macai.

But it was fun tho. The next big event will be next year March.

Emmm...gotta start cracking the head for the family's theme colour and what baju should I wear. Is it too early to plan? hehe
